Helping you to choose the most sustainable option
Natural refrigerants such as ammonia or carbon dioxide have a very low global warming potential when accidentally released in the atmosphere compared to HCFCs and HFCs.
The energy efficiency of equipment using natural refrigerants tend to be slightly better when compared to HFCs to replace HCFCs. In addition, there are currently international debates about the use of HFCs due to their global warming potential.
In some European countries such as Denmark, Norway or Sweden there are already some taxes on HFC refrigerants which do not apply to natural refrigerants. Our advice to our customers is to always favour natural refrigerants where technically possible.
