Which HCFCs are to be phased-out?

All hydrochlorofluorocarbon’s (HCFC’s) are to be phased-out. A list of the most commonly used HCFCs in refrigeration are shown below:

  • R22 (this is the most common HCFC used in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment across Europe) 
  • R123 
  • R124 
  • R141B 
  • R142B 
  • R401A/B/C (also called MP39 or MP66) 
  • R402A/B (also called HP80 or HP81) 
  • R403A/B 
  • R406A 
  • R408A (also called FX10) 
  • R409A/B (also called FX56) 
  • R414B 
  • R416A
All of these refrigerants are subject to phase-out as per the European Union 2037/200 regulation.
